Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Deacon Griggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jasper Stride (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Griggs comes to the cage accompanied by Church by T-Pain. Deacon Griggs is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Deacon Griggs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jasper Stride!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Robert Douchet and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stride tries to clinch up but Griggs circles away and keeps his distance.

Stride fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Griggs, pushing him back against the cage.
A shot in the inside from Stride.
Stride stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

Stride manages to break the clinch.
A swing and a miss from Stride.
Stride doesn't manage to clinch there - Griggs circles away.
Good standup being displayed there by Griggs as he connects with a hook.
Griggs keeps the fight on the outside.
Stride smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Stride gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Griggs to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Stride wants to stand but Griggs is controlling the position.
Stride keeping moving, preventing Griggs from controlling successfully.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Griggs is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Stride is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Stride has escaped and now he's on top!

Griggs escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Stride gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Griggs has a closed guard, preventing Stride from standing up.

Griggs isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Stride stacks Griggs on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Stride!

Griggs trying his best to control but Stride has mounted him.
Griggs working to try and regain half guard.
Griggs is working hard here to advance position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Stride is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Stride tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Stride is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jasper Stride will probably get the nod.

A lazy left from Stride finds it's target.

Stride breaks from the clinch.
Stride fails in his attempt to clinch.
Griggs walks into a straight right hand from Stride.

Stride has closed the distance and engaged Griggs in a clinch.

Stride tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Griggs was well out of range. Poor timing from Stride.
Griggs darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Stride ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Griggs moves away.
Griggs tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Stride swings and misses with a hook to the body.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Stride is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Stride darts in and clinches Griggs up against the cage.
Griggs can't break the clinch.

Stride breaks from the clinch.
Griggs has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Stride.
Stride punishes Griggs's body with a nice straight punch.
Stride tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Griggs was well out of range. Poor timing from Stride.
Stride bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Griggs's head.
Stride throws a hook to the side of Griggs's head but Griggs sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Stride tries to clinch but Griggs moves out of range.
Griggs tries to close the distance and clinch but Stride swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Stride shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Stride digs a good hook to Griggs's body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Stride lands a nice hook to Griggs's body. Griggs takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Griggs moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Stride is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Griggs rather than just go for the knockout.

Stride tries to sprawl but Griggs drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Griggs wants to pass to mount but Stride is defending the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Griggs is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Stride avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Griggs.
Stride regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Griggs.
Griggs with a flurry of punches that miss.

Griggs thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Griggs missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Stride keeping moving, preventing Griggs from controlling successfully.
Stride wants to get back to his feet but Griggs is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Stride really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Griggs. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Griggs wants to control from the top but Stride keeps moving.
Griggs is really struggling to control Stride but he's trying to hold on to the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Stride wants to get back to his feet but Griggs is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Deacon Griggs.
Stride slips a jab and a cross from Griggs.

Griggs gets tackled into the cage by Stride. Stride maintains the clinch.
Stride misses with a hook to the ribs.
Stride lands a hook to the side of the head.

Stride pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Stride tries to clinch there but Griggs circles away.
Deacon Griggs is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Griggs has a takedown stuffed.
Stride throws a jab but it's blocked by Griggs.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jasper Stride showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Stride keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Good leg kick by Stride there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Stride shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Jasper Stride seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Some wild striking there from Griggs.
Stride looks to clinch
and Griggs counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Stride doesn't manage to clinch there - Griggs circles away.
Griggs shoots for a double leg takedown but Stride sprawls well. He's pushed Griggs's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Griggs throws a lazy right hand but Stride sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Stride closes the distance and pushes Griggs back into the cage.
Griggs jumps guard but Stride turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Stride throws a knee to the head but misses.

Griggs gets control of Stride's arms and successfully pulls guard. Griggs will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Griggs is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Stride is aware though and is defending well.

Stride got a little sloppy there for a moment and Griggs has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Stride has managed to get both his arms back between Griggs's legs - danger averted.
Griggs is trying to keep Stride in close.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Griggs has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Stride can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Stride wants to stand but Griggs is controlling his posture from full guard.

Griggs is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Stride is aware though and is defending well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Griggs working for submissions but it's allowed Stride to get to half guard.

Griggs is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Stride pulls his head out easily.

Jasper Stride is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Griggs works his way to full guard. Good work.

Griggs has his foot on Stride's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Stride works his way back into a safe position though.

Deacon Griggs showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Stride has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
