The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Hirohito Nitta and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Calderon lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
It looks like Bill Nye has been cut.
Calderon scores with a punch to the head.
Nye takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Calderon closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Calderon cracks Nye with a nice body shot.

Nye has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Calderon can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Nye closes the distance and clinches up with Calderon, looking for a takedown. Nye pushes Calderon against the cage but Calderon circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Calderon bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Nye's head.
Nye tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Calderon manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Bill Nye is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Nye throws a chopping leg kick but Calderon manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Nye throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Calderon goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Felipe Calderon is winning the standup battle so far.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Nye throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Calderon's waist but Calderon gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Nye off to one side.
Nye should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Nye is breathing heavily.
Nye walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Calderon gets tackled into the cage by Nye. Nye maintains the clinch.
Calderon doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Calderon misses with a hook to the ribs.

Calderon scores with a shoulder strike.
Calderon misses with a punch to the body.
Calderon has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Nye after a bit of a struggle.
Nye can't break the clinch.
Nye jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Calderon walks away with a smile on his face. Nye gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Felipe Calderon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bill Nye.

Calderon lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Nye backwards.
Calderon will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Nye up against the cage.

Nye is trying to maintain the position but Calderon is very close to passing his half guard.
Calderon works his foot free and advances to mount.
Calderon is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Nye can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
