Rockwell comes to the cage accompanied by Danger. Robbie McStar has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Theo Rockwell's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Theo Rockwell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Robbie McStar!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, John Mangel and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McStar drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Rockwell manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Rockwell trying to control but McStar is having none of it.
McStar is working to get back to half guard.
McStar is squirming around, avoiding Rockwell's attempts to control the action.
McStar is wriggling around trying to escape.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rockwell can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as McStar is looking to escape.
McStar is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Rockwell looking to control and managing it successfully.
McStar tries to hold on but Rockwell pushes him away.
McStar's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

McStar is wriggling around trying to escape.
McStar is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
McStar is squirming around, avoiding Rockwell's attempts to control the action.
McStar really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Rockwell looking to control and managing it successfully.
McStar is in all sorts of trouble here.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
McStar is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rockwell wants to lay and pray for a moment but McStar keeps working.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


A cross from Rockwell lands.


It looks like Robbie McStar has been cut.
Rockwell tries to clinch but McStar moves out of range.
Rockwell moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Rockwell slaps away a takedown attempt from McStar, before circling back to the center of the mat.
McStar throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Rockwell throws a head kick but McStar moves out of range.
McStar chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Rockwell can pounce on him.
Rockwell keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
McStar misses the jab.

McStar scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
McStar lands some shots froms side control.
McStar cracks Rockwell with an elbow. That is naaassty.
McStar landing strikes.

McStar throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Rockwell works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
McStar is trying to control. Rockwell wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
McStar thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
McStar sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Rockwell defending well though.
Rockwell keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
McStar has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

McStar thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Rockwell's head.

McStar thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
McStar thows a huge punch but Rockwell dodges it nicely.
Rockwell is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of McStar's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take McStar's back!

McStar rolls, trying to escape but Rockwell keeps control of the position.
McStar turns into Rockwell and is now in his guard.
McStar throwing strikes from guard but Rockwell blocks nicely.
McStar wants to control from the top but Rockwell keeps moving.
McStar throws a big right hand that misses.
Rockwell utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
McStar loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

McStar throws an elbow that misses. Rockwell uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in McStar's guard. Nice move by Rockwell!
Rockwell stops McStar from standing up.
McStar controls Rockwell momentarily but Rockwell frees himself.
Rockwell pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. McStar is keeping the position for now.
Rockwell with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
McStar trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
McStar keeping moving, preventing Rockwell from controlling successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Robbie McStar showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Robbie McStar's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Rockwell's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Rockwell duly obliges.
Rockwell is looking to clinch.
Rockwell ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

The fight stays on the outside here - Rockwell looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
McStar avoids the head kick by Rockwell.
McStar looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rockwell is fending him off so far but McStar persists. Nope, Rockwell circles away and we're back to standing.
McStar throws a right hand that misses
and Rockwell counters with a big head kick but McStar shrugs it off.
Rockwell fails with an attempt to clinch.
Rockwell pushes McStar away with a front kick.
Rockwell tries to clinch but McStar is having none of it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

McStar feints and as Rockwell raises his hands in defense, McStar changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Rockwell lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for McStar!

McStar is trying to escape the mount.
Rockwell controlling from the full mount.
Rockwell tries to control but McStar wriggling away.
McStar is trying to escape the mount.
Theo Rockwell has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

McStar keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

McStar is trying to control the position but Rockwell postures up.

McStar is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Rockwell has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Rockwell stands up over McStar, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Robbie McStar is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
McStar is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Theo Rockwell.
I think McStar has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
