Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alex Henderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mos Def (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Def has chosen Mathematics as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Alex Henderson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mos Def! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Colin Fray and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Def shoots for a takedown but Henderson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Mos Def seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Def shoots in and drives through. Henderson sprawls well. Def looking to score a takedown here. Henderson is defending well but Def drives through and ends up in Henderson's guard. Def trying to control but Henderson is working from the bottom. Def controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Def wants to pass the guard but Henderson is keeping the position. Def's corner is telling him to maintain position. Def pushes down on Henderson's leg and manages to get into half guard. Def is trying to control the action in half guard but Henderson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Def is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
That's one minute gone in the round. Def wants to control but Henderson is keeping him busy. Def not doing much here.
Def is working for a kimura but Henderson is defending it quite comfortably.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Def is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Henderson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Def. Def content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. It looks like Def might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Def's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Mos Def was stalling too much, according to the referee. Def shoots for a takedown but Henderson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Alex Henderson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mos Def. Def slips a jab and a cross from Henderson.
Def moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
It looks like Mos Def has been cut. Def tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Henderson swivels and escapes. Def shoots in for a takedown but Henderson shows good takedown defense. Henderson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Def is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Def tries to score a body lock takedown but Henderson shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Henderson tightens his grip and picks Def up, before dumping him to the ground. Def manages to land in guard.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Def keeping full guard, as Henderson tries to pass. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Def looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Henderson is defending well. Def quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Henderson has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Def celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 5:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Mos Def! Mos Def very nearly forgot to thank Knockout Nutrition (150Q $25) amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
