Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dan Young!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Nathin Q!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Micheangelo Fripello and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Young misses.
Young has managed to clinch.
Q tries to pull guard but Young holds him up against the cage and eventually Q drops back down to his feet.
Young pushes Q back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Young lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Young is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Q jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Young walks away with a smile on his face. Q gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Young thuds his right hand into Q's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Young fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Q, pushing him back against the cage.
Young throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Q blocks it with crossed arms.
Young lands a left hand that snaps the head of Q backwards.
Q gets control of Young's arms and successfully pulls guard. Q will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Q looking for a triangle here. Young is fighting it but it looks tight! Q pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Young is tapping out - this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Nathin Q!
