Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Brandon Murphy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Michal Kacprzak! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Paulsen Ambrosius and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kacprzak wants to clinch up but Murphy keeps it at a distance. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kacprzak is defended easily by Murphy. Kacprzak with a lazy takedown attempt and Murphy counters with a nice double leg into half guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Kacprzak won't allow Murphy to pass to mount. Kacprzak tries to roll over but Murphy keeps him under control. Murphy is looking for a kimura but Kacprzak is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Murphy to get the leverage. Murphy wants to stand up but Kacprzak has a hold of him and won't allow it. Kacprzak looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Murphy pushes past his half guard into mount! Murphy with a couple of short strikes. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kacprzak can't escape the position.
Murphy stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. Murphy bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kacprzak is looking for a sweep. Kacprzak should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Kacprzak is trying to control Murphy's posture but Murphy avoids it. Murphy wants to control but Kacprzak is keeping him busy. Murphy working away. Kacprzak tries to buck Murphy off but Murphy is having none of it. Kacprzak is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Murphy's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Kacprzak looks gassed! Murphy is thwarting Kacprzak's attempts to control the position. Murphy is looking for a kimura here.
Kacprzak is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Murphy pulls his head out easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Murphy is working for a submission of some sort.
Kacprzak has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Murphy. Oh but Kacprzak has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Murphy goes limp - he's gone! Kacprzak jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
