Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dandy The Don (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tatsuya Gomi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The Don comes to the cage accompanied by Sometime Around Midnight by The Airbourne Toxic Event. Tatsuya Gomi told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dandy The Don! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tatsuya Gomi! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Sosuke Kotani and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gomi swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Gomi decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. The Don is looking to improve his position.
The Don looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. The Don is looking to control Gomi's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can The Don avoid being mounted? The Don moves into full guard.

Gomi trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The Don is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Gomi closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming The Don to the mat! The Don manages to get full guard. The Don working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gomi doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gomi manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. The Don is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gomi looking to pass the guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gomi is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. The Don keeping moving, preventing Gomi from controlling successfully. The Don not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Gomi tries to clinch up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gomi fakes high and swings low for a body shot but The Don manages to avoid it. The Don shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. The Don advances position into side control! The Don advances to full mount. Gomi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with The Don. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. The Don looking to ground and pound but Gomi is blocking nicely. The Don wants to control the pace but Gomi is squirming around nicely. The Don misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The Don looking to control and managing it successfully. The Don tries to control but Gomi wriggling away. The Don thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Gomi is in all sorts of trouble here.

The Don misses with a head shot. The Don jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Gomi manages to avoid the submission attempt. Gomi is trying to control The Don's posture but The Don avoids it. Gomi tries to buck The Don off but The Don is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dandy The Don dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
The Don scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. The Don looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. The Don trying to control the position but Gomi is working away. Gomi wants to control but The Don is keeping busy.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. The Don works his foot free and advances to mount. Gomi working to try and regain half guard.
The Don throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. The Don takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Gomi is squirming around, avoiding The Don's attempts to control the action. Gomi blocking the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The Don tries to control but Gomi wriggling away. The Don controlling his opponent. The Don trying to control but Gomi is having none of it.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Dandy The Don just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Gomi moves in looking to clinch but The Don pushes him off. The Don misses with a takedown attempt and Gomi counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for The Don! The Don manages to regain half guard. Good work. The Don works his way to full guard. Good work. There's a bit of a scramble here and now The Don is on top in guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gomi is trying to keep The Don in close.
Gomi might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control The Don kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. The Don stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gomi swivels though and keeps the full guard. Gomi tries to land a sweep but no joy. Gomi trying to control the position.

Gomi tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Gomi shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and The Don counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. The Don thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Gomi's head. The Don works his foot free and advances to mount. Dandy The Don overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. The Don wants to finish this one by submission but Gomi is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from The Don. The Don is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by The Don!
