Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jason Fray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricky Martinez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Martinez is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Knock Out. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Martinez tries to close the distance and clinch but Fray swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Martinez shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Fray as he jumps to the side. Fray misses with a double jab.

Martinez gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Fray. Martinez throws a series of punches but Fray avoids them all with ease. Fray avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Left hook, right uppercut from Fray. Martinez tries to close the distance and clinch but Fray swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Fray throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Martinez on the side of the head. Martinez shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Fray as he avoids it easily. Martinez lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Martinez misses with a wild combination.
Martinez wants to clinch enabling Fray to counter with a crisp jab. Ricky Martinez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fray throws a nice looking combination but Martinez bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Martinez moves into the clinch. Martinez wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Fray has him pressed against the cage. Fray has had enough of the clinch but Martinez keeps him there for the moment. Fray changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Martinez fights it off and pushes away nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Fray will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Fray defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Martinez. Jason Fray has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ricky Martinez. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Martinez has managed to clinch.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Martinez breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Fray is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Martinez walks into a jab. Fray getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Martinez pushes Fray against the cage but Fray circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Martinez shoots in for a takedown but Fray shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Fray throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Martinez. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Martinez takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Martinez tries to clinch but Fray moves away and Fray makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Martinez tries to clinch but Fray moves out of range. Jason Fray has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Ricky Martinez is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
