Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Goodson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Ford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ford has chosen For What It's Worth as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bobby Goodson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Eric Ford!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ford misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Goodson.
Ford is looking to clinch.
Ford misses with a left hand
and Goodson counters with a left and a right that stings Ford.
Ford tries for a takedown but Goodson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Ford misses with a few strikes there.
Goodson leaves Ford with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Goodson gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Ford to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Ford trying to control the position from guard on top but Goodson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Goodson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ford on the ground.
Ford wants to get up but he can't break Goodson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Goodson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Goodson tries to get out of the position.
Goodson keeping moving, preventing Ford from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ford gets to his feet - Goodson follows without any prompting.

Goodson works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Goodson takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Ford gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Goodson counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Bobby Goodson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eric Ford.
Ford tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Goodson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Ford swings for the body but Goodson moves out of range.
Goodson uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Goodson scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Goodson closes the distance and clinches up with Ford, looking for a takedown. Goodson pushes Ford against the cage but Ford circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Ford swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A slow jab from Goodson misses its intended target.
Ford is looking to clinch but Goodson is avoiding it.
Goodson keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Goodson misses with a double jab.
Ford just misses with a punch to the body.
Goodson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Goodson scores with a decent looking hook.
Goodson lands an overhand right.
Goodson avoids the body shot from Ford.
Ford rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Goodson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Goodson lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Ford at a distance.
Goodson takes a swing at Ford's ribcage but misses.
Ford fails to land the takedown.
Goodson scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Goodson cracks Ford with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

and Goodson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Goodson is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Ford tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Goodson swivels and escapes.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ford avoids a punch combination nicely.
Goodson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ford sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Goodson somewhat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Eric Ford will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Goodson stuffs the takedown attempt from Ford. Ford gets slowly back to his feet.
Ford throws a predictable looking body shot
and Ford takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Ford.
Ford wants to control but Goodson is keeping him busy.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Ford thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Goodson is not content to let Ford control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Ford tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Ford in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Goodson is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
