Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Antonio Hong! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Quinton Marshall! The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Sosuke Kotani and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marshall on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Marshall jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Marshall misses with a hook. Hong pushes Marshall away with a front kick. Hong misses with a straight right. Hong with a nice cross. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Marshall avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Good work by Marshall as he checks the leg kick. Marshall is looking to clinch but Hong is avoiding it.
Marshall misses the jab. Marshall scores with a shot to the body.
Marshall walks into a stiff left hand from Hong. Hong circles away from the clinch attempt.
Hong gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Marshall. Marshall throws a jab when Hong was well out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hong lands with a thumping leg kick.
Marshall walks forward, straight into a front kick from Hong. Marshall fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Marshall doesn't manage to clinch there - Hong circles away.
Marshall takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. A looping hook to the body misses from Hong. Marshall does a little dance to reset his feet. Hong moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Marshall lands with a straight right. Hong didn't see that one coming. A nice leg kick lands there from Hong. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Some bone on bone action there as Marshall checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Hong keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Marshall misses the shot to the body. Marshall lands with a good body shot. Hong looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hong throws a head kick but Marshall moves out of range.
Hong takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Hong ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Hong misses with a low kick as Marshall jumps back. Hong takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Hong keeps Marshall at a distance using the push kick. Hong turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Marshall throws the left hand but Hong avoids the punch easily. Quinton Marshall seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hong works Marshall's body with a nice hook. Hong wants to land a leg kick but Marshall is out of range. Marshall drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Hong takes one on the button.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Marshall tries to clinch and Hong counters with a nice uppercut. Hong looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Nice body kick there by Hong. Marshall looks gassed! Hong lands a leg kick that knocks Marshall off balance momentarily. Crunch! Hong slams his shin into Marshall's torso. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Nice cross by Hong. Hong connects with an inside leg kick. A chopping leg kick lands by Hong. Hong feints and then cracks Marshall's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Marshall down. Hong fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Marshall looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Hong misses with an uppercut. Hong scores with a jab to the body. Hong lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hong connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Marshall on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Hong throws a nice outside leg kick. A shot to the liver by Hong. Beautiful body shot. Hong moves into range and connects with a jab. Hong lands a nice looking body kick. Marshall takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Hong throws a jab but it's blocked by Marshall. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Hong, right into the meat.
Marshall gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Hong looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Marshall takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Antonio Hong dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Hong scores with a jab to the body. Hong changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Hong is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Marshall can do to turn this around? Hong feints a jab and as Marshall dips his head, Hong unleashes a brutal head kick that catches Marshall right on the jaw! Timbeeer! Marshall falls backwards in slow motion, only propped up by the cage! Hong smiles a psychotic smile as he stares down his unconscious opponent. That is a scary man.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:15 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Antonio Hong! Antonio Hong retains his heavyweight title! Antonio Hong took to the microphone after his victory and thanked his sponsors, L.A. Elite Clothing Co for their support in the buildup to the fight.
