Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Loos Bird (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Otryad Kovboev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Otryad Kovboev will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Loos Bird!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Otryad Kovboev!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Aleksandr Martynov and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bird misses with a two punch combination.
Bird tries to land a front kick but Kovboev steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Bird closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kovboev circles away.
Bird rushes Kovboev and presses him up against the cage.
Bird's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Bird breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Nice takedown defense from Kovboev. No joy for Bird on that attempt.
Bird tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Bird tries to clinch there but Kovboev circles away.

Kovboev throws a sloppy head kick and Bird moves out of range easily.
Kovboev keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

and Bird holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Kovboev misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Bird.
Kovboev tries for a takedown. No joy.
Kovboev's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Kovboev is trying to maintain a safe position but Bird gets an underhook and turns Kovboev into the cage.
Bird misses with an elbow strike.
Kovboev tries to land knees in the clinch but Bird avoids the damage to the body.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Bird wants to stand up but Kovboev is controlling him.

Bird has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kovboev is working away from the top position though.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Kovboev in particular looking to stall.
Bird tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Kovboev wants to take a breather but Bird is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bird trying to hold on to Kovboev's head to control him but Kovboev postures up.
Bird is breathing heavily.
Bird is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Bird is looking to improve his position.
Kovboev wants to control but Bird is keeping him busy.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Bird wants to clinch but Kovboev slips to the side
and Kovboev holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Kovboev tries to break the clinch but Bird is controlling the position.
Kovboev has clasped his hands together around Bird's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Bird gets back to half guard.
Kovboev really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bird. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kovboev content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Kovboev tries to pass the half guard into mount. Bird knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Kovboev is just content to waste time from the top position. Bird takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Bird is trying to control the position but Kovboev postures up.
Bird wants to sweep here but Kovboev controlling him for the moment.
Kovboev must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Kovboev stands and steps away. Bird gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

A close round but Otryad Kovboev will probably get the nod.
That's time! Bird's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Bird throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Kovboev throws a head kick that misses
and Bird counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Bird lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Bird is trying to break the clinch but Kovboev has him pressed against the cage.
Kovboev tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Kovboev tries to score a body lock takedown but Bird shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Kovboev gets underhooks to prevent Bird's takedown attempt.
Bird is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Bird escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Bird fails to land the takedown.
Bird clinches up with Kovboev and pushes him back against the cage.
Kovboev is trying to break free.
Kovboev tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Bird smiles and moves away.
Loos Bird has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Otryad Kovboev.
Kovboev is breathing heavily.
Kovboev darts in trying to clinch
and Bird counters with a takedown into side control.

Kovboev takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Bird remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Bird wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kovboev keeps working.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Bird looks up at the clock and then as Kovboev takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Bird smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Bird stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Bird gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Kovboev counters with a head kick. That will keep Bird thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Bird fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Otryad Kovboev is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Kovboev throws a lazy head kick
and Bird counters by moving into the clinch.
Bird blocks an uppercut.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Bird.
Kovboev wants to get back to striking at distance but Bird won't allow it.
Bird wants a takedown.
Bird wants to break free but Kovboev has control.

and Bird counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bird is in close to Kovboev's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Bird throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kovboev works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Loos Bird overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kovboev wants to hit a switch here but Bird passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Kovboev there!

That's time! Bird's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!
Bird scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Kovboev tries to clinch but Bird moves out of range.
Kovboev is looking to clinch but Bird is avoiding it.
No joy there for Bird, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Bird pulls guard effortlessly.

Bird looking for a guillotine here but Kovboev defends easily.
Bird wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Kovboev takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Kovboev pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Bird is keeping the position for now.
Bird is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Kovboev has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bird is working away from the top position though.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Bird just content to control the position.
Bird decides to stand back up.
No joy there for Bird, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Bird shoots in looking for a takedown. Kovboev tries to sprawl out of it but Bird keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kovboev manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

and Bird counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Bird.
Bird stands and throws Kovboev's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Kovboev stops Bird from passing to mount.
And that's the end of the fight!
Loos Bird showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Bird has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
