PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marshall Masden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hunter Alleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Masden comes to the cage accompanied by Metallica - --Human. Alleman has chosen Battery as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Marshall Masden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hunter Alleman!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Elvis Blanc and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Alleman drives through with a takedown into guard.
Alleman is looking to work some ground and pound but Masden has wrist control.

Masden on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Masden tries to get out of the position.

Alleman drops back looking for a leg! Masden is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Masden manages to kick Alleman off! Alleman jumps back into Masden's guard.
Masden knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Alleman on the ground.
Masden wants to get back to his feet but Alleman is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Alleman wants to control from the top but Masden keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Hunter Alleman was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Alleman looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Masden is looking to escape.

Alleman is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Masden has managed to free his arm - good work.
Alleman has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Alleman is nestled in close to Masden, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Alleman is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Alleman is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Masden scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Alleman manages to mount him!

Alleman with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Masden is squirming around, avoiding Alleman's attempts to control the action.

Alleman is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Masden is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Masden flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Alleman anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Masden and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Alleman slips an arm under Masden chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Alleman has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Alleman is squeezing on Masden like an anaconda would it's prey. Masden fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Hunter Alleman!
A relieved looking Hunter Alleman thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
