Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Putnel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Franko Snith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Putnel might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Let It Rock. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John Putnel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Franko Snith! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Winston Howard and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Putnel shoots in and drives through. Snith sprawls well. Snith slips under a jab from Putnel. The fight stays on the outside here - Snith looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Putnel looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Snith! Putnel misses with a head shot. Putnel throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Snith tries to get back to half guard but can't. Putnel knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Snith on the ground. Putnel content just to control the position here. Putnel throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Putnel jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Snith is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Snith and Putnel has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

That's one minute gone in the round. What's Snith going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Snith sneaks back into half guard. Snith looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Snith throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Snith keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Snith manages to get to full guard.
Snith has his foot on Putnel's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Putnel works his way back into a safe position though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Snith utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Snith fails to land the takedown. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Putnel misses with the combination.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Snith taking a bit of punishment here - Putnel scoring with strikes. Snith explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! Putnel clinches with his opponent.
Snith tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Putnel smiles and moves away.
Snith looks gassed! Putnel misses with a few strikes there.

Snith blocks a head kick by Putnel.
Putnel will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Putnel fails with the takedown enabling Snith to counter with a crisp jab. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Putnel. That's going to take a lot out of him. Snith closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Putnel did well to prevent Snith getting side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Snith is trying to control. Putnel wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Snith content to control rather than advance. Snith trying to control the action but Putnel is working from the bottom. Snith stands up from half guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Snith fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Putnel sprawls well initially but Snith persists and gets the takedown into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Franko Snith dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Putnel scores with a hook. Putnel throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Snith avoids a punch combination nicely.
Putnel misses with a body kick. Snith misses with a takedown attempt and Putnel counters with a series of strikes. Snith will be more careful next time no doubt. John Putnel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Snith is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Putnel's half guard. Snith is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Putnel is staying active underneath Snith, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Snith stands up out of the half guard. Snith changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Putnel tries to avoid it but Snith manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Putnel to the ground. Putnel escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Snith is breathing heavily. Putnel works over Snith's head and body with a nice combination. Snith avoids a punch combination nicely.

Horrible takedown by Snith or perhaps it was just good defense by Putnel which made him look bad. John Putnel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Franko Snith. Snith manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Putnel on his heels. He'll look to pass Putnel's guard now, I'm sure. Putnel avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Putnel looking to hit a scissor sweep but Snith is one step ahead there. Snith content to stall in guard here. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Snith pushes down on Putnel's leg and manages to get into half guard. Snith controlling the pace.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Putnel is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Snith looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Franko Snith hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Snith closes the distance and clinches up with Putnel, looking for a takedown. Snith pushes Putnel against the cage but Putnel circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Snith fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Snith avoids the head kick by Putnel.
Putnel shoots in looking for a takedown but Snith manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Putnel's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Nice takedown defense from Putnel. No joy for Snith on that attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Snith blocks a head kick by Putnel.
Snith shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Putnel's guard. Franko Snith has got the better of the ground game so far. Snith drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Putnel manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Snith has Putnel in his guard. Putnel has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Snith not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Putnel trying to stand up but can't free himself from Snith's guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Snith is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Snith seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Franko Snith showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Snith wants to advance to full mount but Putnel doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Putnel is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Snith is controlling him. Snith wants to pass the guard but Putnel is keeping the position. Snith trying to control the position from guard on top but Putnel is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Snith trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Snith thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. The ref stands the fighters back up. Franko Snith was stalling too much, according to the referee. Putnel fails in his attempt to clinch. Snith shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Snith passes Putnel's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Snith stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Putnel to get to his feet. Snith shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Putnel sprawls well. Putnel wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Snith gets slowly back to his feet. Putnel uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Snith has time to react. John Putnel has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Franko Snith is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Snith looking to score a takedown here. Putnel is defending well but Snith drives through and ends up in Putnel's guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Franko Snith comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Snith winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
