The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Felipe Paraventi and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vieira gets a takedown into half guard.
Vieira really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Vieira seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jose Vieira.
Vieira displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Braga.

Braga is working an open guard so Vieira takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

and Vieira counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Braga's guard now.

Vieira is not going to allow Braga to sit and survive in this position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Vieira gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes.
Vieira is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Braga knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Braga for a finish.

Braga is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Vieira jumps into side control!

Braga is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Vieira rushes Braga and presses him up against the cage.
Braga is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Braga.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Vieira wants to lay and pray for a moment but Braga keeps working.

Braga is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Vieira's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Vieira's back!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Braga has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Vieira! Can he survive? No! He's out! Braga gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
