Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Emelyan Pugachov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hamid Anubis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Emelyan Pugachov has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Emelyan Pugachov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hamid Anubis!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Steve Erwin and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anubis just misses with a punch to the body.

Pugachov tries to clinch but Anubis moves away

and Anubis holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Anubis on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Anubis is trying to trip Pugachov. He has hold of a leg but Pugachov is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Anubis persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Anubis is standing up over Pugachov. Pugachov looks to escape but Anubis dives into side control.
The strikes coming from Anubis are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

You can see the frustration on Pugachov's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Anubis is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Pugachov knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Anubis tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Anubis has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Anubis takes a little break here. Pugachov wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Anubis creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Pugachov sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Anubis is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Pugachov knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

and Anubis counters with a nice double leg into side control. Pugachov won't be happy with that.

Anubis thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Pugachov is trying to control Anubis's posture but Anubis avoids it.

Anubis has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

and Anubis counters with a takedown into side control.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Anubis swings around for an armbar but Pugachov sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Anubis's guard.

Pugachov might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Pugachov postures up.
Pugachov wants to stand and escape but instead Anubis has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pugachov controls Anubis momentarily but Anubis frees himself.
Anubis wants to control from the top but Pugachov keeps moving.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Anubis controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Emelyan Pugachov.
Anubis showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Pugachov.
Pugachov tries to land a front kick but Anubis steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Pugachov darts in trying to clinch

and Anubis counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Pugachov wants to control but Anubis is keeping busy.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Pugachov is defending against the submission attempts here by Anubis.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hamid Anubis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Pugachov looks to clinch

and Anubis counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Pugachov's guard now.

Anubis drops back looking for a leg! Pugachov is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Pugachov manages to kick Anubis off! Anubis jumps back into Pugachov's guard.
Pugachov looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Anubis puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Anubis is looking to take a break and control but Pugachov is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Anubis not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Anubis thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Pugachov's head.
Anubis wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pugachov keeps working.
Pugachov tries to kick Anubis off in order to stand up. Anubis Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Pugachov knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Anubis on the ground.
Anubis cracks Pugachov with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Sloppy strikes there by Anubis.
Anubis wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pugachov keeps working.
Pugachov is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Anubis working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Anubis is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Pugachov has escaped the position, nice work there.

Anubis decides to stand back up. Anubis steps back and let's Pugachov get back to his feet.

Pugachov's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Pugachov duly obliges.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Anubis drives through and clinches with Pugachov against the cage.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Emelyan Pugachov has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Anubis tries to pull guard but Pugachov holds him up against the cage and eventually Anubis drops back down to his feet.
Pugachov wants to get back to striking at distance but Anubis won't allow it.

Anubis successfully pulls guard.
Hamid Anubis is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Anubis bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Pugachov's guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Anubis sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Anubis keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Pugachov's head.

And that's the end of the fight!
Hamid Anubis comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Anubis winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
