Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
10 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Derek Brown!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jeff Mad Cow!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Roger Salmon and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Brown throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Brown blocks the body kick.
Brown changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mad Cow tries to avoid it but Brown manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mad Cow to the ground. Mad Cow escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Mad Cow fails with the takedown
and Brown counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Mad Cow's guard now.
Brown tries to free his leg and advance position but Mad Cow is retaining full guard.
Mad Cow keeping moving, preventing Brown from controlling successfully.
Brown is really struggling to control Mad Cow but he's trying to hold on to the position.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Derek Brown wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Brown forces Mad Cow back against the cage and clinches.
Mad Cow stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Brown blocks a punch to the side of the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mad Cow pushes Brown back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Mad Cow lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Mad Cow fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Mad Cow breaks the clinch.
Brown connects with a looping right hand.
Mad Cow throws a head kick but Brown moves out of range.
Brown closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Brown lands in his opponent's guard.

Brown is stalling in the full guard.
Mad Cow wants to get back to his feet but Brown is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Brown looking to sit in guard and control but Mad Cow gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Brown is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Mad Cow would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Mad Cow wants to pass the guard but Brown is keeping the position.
Mad Cow lying in Brown's guard like a wet fish here, stalling away. Brown decides he's had enough of all that nonsense - he escapes his hips and locks up an armbar! Wow, that was slick! Mad Cow taps! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
