Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Terrance Tank (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucas Neri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lucas Neri!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Edson Gomes and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Neri throws a one two combo.


It looks like Terrance Tank has been cut.
No joy there for Neri, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Tank has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Neri's corner calls for a 1-2. Neri obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Neri throws a nice looking combination but Tank bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Tank fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Neri avoids it really well and circles away.
Neri shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Tank eats them both and turns towards Neri to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Tank shoots in and bounces Neri off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Neri looking to hit a scissor sweep but Tank is one step ahead there.

Tank with a flurry of punches that miss.
Neri lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Tank!
Tank wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Neri.

Neri with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Tank keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Tank is squirming around, avoiding Neri's attempts to control the action.
Tank wants to try and get back to his feet.

Tank tries to hold on but Neri pushes him away.
Neri takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Tank is trying desperately to improve position.

Tank wants to control but Neri is having none of it.
Poor strikes thrown by Neri there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Tank knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Neri on the ground.

Neri can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Tank is looking to escape.

Neri wants to finish this one by submission but Tank is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Neri.
Tank is squirming around, avoiding Neri's attempts to control the action.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Tank.
Neri wants to clinch.
Tank is looking to clinch.
Neri feints a jab promting Tank to slip. Neri then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Tank slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Tank tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Tank takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Neri wants to clinch up but Tank keeps it at a distance.

Tank feints and as Neri raises his hands in defense, Tank changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Neri working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Tank doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Tank manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Neri tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tank looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Neri puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

and Tank counters with a nice double leg into side control. Neri won't be happy with that.
Neri is breathing heavily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Neri manages to get back to half guard.
Tank is looking to pass Neri's guard but actually Neri recovers to full guard.

Tank is working Neri over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Tank stands and throws Neri's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Tank wants to get back to his feet.
Neri is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Tank lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Tank is nestled in close to Neri, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Neri regains full guard. Nicely done.
Tank has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Neri is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Tank would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Neri on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Tank jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Neri walks away with a smile on his face. Tank gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Terrance Tank. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Neri dives in and grabs Tank's left leg, looking for a takedown. Tank pushes down on Neri's head and hops out.
Neri takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Tank closes the distance and clinches up with Neri, looking for a takedown. Tank pushes Neri against the cage but Neri circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Tank fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Neri sprawls well initially but Tank persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

The fighters are battling for position here. Neri manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Tank sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Neri's guard.

Neri is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Tank pulls his head out easily.
Tank tries to stand but can't do so whilst Neri controls his leg.

Tank lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Neri wants to improve his position but Tank is controlling well.

Tank winds up and cracks Neri with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Tank connects with a nice short shot to Neri's temple.
Terrance Tank overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Neri wants to control but Tank is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Neri is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Tank is staying active.
Neri wants to get back to full guard.
Tank drops an elbow to the side of Neri's head.
Tank wants to stand but Neri has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Terrance Tank showed his dominance in that final round.

Terrance Tank decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
