Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between James Bashor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bashor's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Monster by Skillet. Diaz is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Look At Me Now. James Bashor had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 156.4lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Nick Diaz enters the cage!

The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice leg kick lands there from Bashor.
A bone on bone clash there as Bashor blocks the leg kick.
Bashor avoids a punch combination nicely.
Diaz is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Diaz lands with a nice body punch.
Bashor takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Bashor lands a jab to the nose.
Diaz tries to clinch up but Bashor circles away and keeps his distance.
Diaz on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
No joy there for Bashor, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Diaz works the jab nicely.
The fighters circle momentarily. Diaz darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Bashor bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Bashor changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Nice defenses there by Bashor.
Bashor looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Diaz throws a right and a left that both miss.
Bashor throws a leg kick which misses Diaz's front leg but catches the back leg as Diaz tries to avoid it.
Bashor lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Diaz at a distance.
Diaz misses with a wild body shot.
Diaz throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Diaz looks to throw the jab but Bashor is out of range.
Bashor chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Bashor circles away from the clinch attempt
and Bashor counters with a nice low kick that buckles Diaz's knee momentarily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Bashor works over Diaz's head and body with a nice combination.
Bashor moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Bashor looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Diaz tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Bashor scoring well with a low kick there.
Bashor swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Diaz darts in trying to clinch
and Bashor counters with a low kick, right behind Diaz 's knee.
Diaz fails with an attempt to clinch.
A looping hook to the body misses from Diaz. Bashor does a little dance to reset his feet.
Bashor does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Diaz misses with a right hand
enabling Bashor to counter with a crisp jab.

Diaz thows a leg kick but Bashor checks it
and Bashor counters with a nice body kick.
Diaz wants to clinch.
Bashor throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Diaz looks gassed!
Diaz just misses with a punch to the body.
Diaz has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Bashor.
The fighters circling - Diaz throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Bashor dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

and Bashor counters with an inside leg kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

It looks like Nick Diaz has been cut.
Bashor ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Diaz uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Bashor.
Diaz's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Diaz will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Bashor is looking to wear down Diaz with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Diaz tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bashor swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Bashor thows a body shot but no joy.
Diaz misses with a wild combination.
Oooooh!!! Bashor has knocked Diaz down with a huge combo! Bashor steps away and waves a wobbly Diaz back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Diaz is still on wobbly legs! Can Bashor finish him?
Diaz drops his hands momentarily. Bashor doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Diaz staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Diaz doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). James Bashor!
