Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
26 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Arthur Meighen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
24 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eaton Cox! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Meighen lands with a hook. Cox tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Meighen scores with a jab to the jaw. Cox pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Meighen fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Meighen swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Cox swings for the body but Meighen moves out of range.
Cox lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Meighen circles away quickly and effectively. Meighen drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Cox avoids the head kick by Meighen.
Good leg kick by Meighen there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Meighen moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Meighen closes the distance and clinches. Cox being controlled against the cage. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Meighen lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Meighen stalling in the clinch.
Meighen is looking to control Cox's arms but Cox gets an underhook and turns him. Now Meighen has his back to the cage. Meighen misses with a punch to the body.
Meighen is looking to break free of the clinch but Cox has double underhooks.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cox goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Meighen lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Meighen tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Meighen tries a body shot but Cox blocks it.
Meighen is trying to break the clinch but Cox is controlling him. Cox manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Cox keeping full guard, as Meighen tries to pass. Cox is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar!
