Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Matthews (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rainbow Trout (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matthews comes to the cage accompanied by Disturbed-Conflict. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rainbow Trout!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Joseph Jones and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Matthews is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Trout.
Trout tries to clinch there but Matthews circles away.
Trout throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Trout throws a head kick but Matthews moves out of range.
Trout lands with a hook. Matthews tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Matthews swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Matthews throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Matthews takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Trout slips a jab and a cross from Matthews.
Matthews lands with a nice body punch.

Trout utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Trout can do anything to dispel that myth.

Matthews has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Matthews seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Trout motions for Matthews to come forward. Trout throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Trout lets loose with a powerful body kick. Matthews will feel that in the morning.

Trout lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Trout will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Trout lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Matthews has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Matthews and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Matthews crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Trout - the referee stops the clock and Matthews gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Trout. Matthews manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Rainbow Trout comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
