PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kicht Wrest (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Circle Track (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kicht Wrest!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Circle Track!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, George Francis and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Track closes the distance and pushes Wrest back into the cage.
Track working hard to break the clinch.

Track has Wrest pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Track pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Wrest tumbling to the mat - Track dives into Wrest's guard.
Track slips nicely into half guard.
Track sitting and controlling from the half guard.
Wrest misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Wrest regains full guard. Nicely done.

Track postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Track really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wrest. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Wrest throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
Wrest sneaks back into half guard.

Track is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Wrest sees it coming and defends easily.
Wrest missing with punches from the bottom.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Track is taking a breather. Wrest says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Track blocks the strikes from Wrest.
Wrest punching from the bottom.
Wrest won't allow Track to pass to mount.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Wrest gets full guard.
Wrest is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Wrest is breathing heavily.
Track is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Wrest throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Wrest throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Wrest doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Track must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Track is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Track trying to control but Wrest is working from the bottom.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Circle Track hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Track gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Track letting Wrest take a breather here.
Wrest wants to break the clinch but can't.

Wrest manages to pull guard.
Track lands a couple of digs.
Track wants to pass the guard but Wrest is keeping the position.
Track content to stall in guard here.

Track's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Track is on the wrong end of a couple of strikes there.
Wrest throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Track seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Circle Track hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Track feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Wrest thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Track trying to control the position from guard on top but Wrest is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Wrest is striking but Track is not phased and passes to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Circle Track dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Wrest gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Track working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Wrest's head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Track trying to stand up but can't free himself from Wrest's guard.
Wrest throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Wrest keeping moving, preventing Track from controlling successfully.
Wrest wants to sweep here but Track controlling him for the moment.
Wrest trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Circle Track has got the better of the ground game so far.
Track tries to free his leg and advance position but Wrest is retaining full guard.
Track is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Wrest throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Wrest will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Wrest flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Track is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Wrest has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Track moves into side control, avoiding the strikes from Wrest.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Track cracks Wrest with an elbow. That is naaassty.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Track in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.

Track stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Track scores with a nice body kick.

Track moves into the clinch.
Track doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Track wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Wrest lands a couple of elbows.

Wrest drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Track dives on top into guard.
Track distracts Wrest with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Track stays in close to Wrest's body and controls the position.
Track stands and throws Wrest's legs to the side, diving into side control.
A lull in the action here.
Wrest tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Track wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Track is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Wrest's shoulder. That is not cool.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Circle Track.
Nice sprawl there from Track as Wrest shoots in.

Track looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Wrest!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Track has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Wrest's face.
Track looking to control and managing it successfully.

Circle Track showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! And we move into the final round!

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Circle Track was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Wrest has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.


Wrest is rocked!

Track shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Wrest's guard.
Oh Wrest is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Track scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Track looking to pass the guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Track's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Wrest throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Track arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Wrest's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Circle Track!
