Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jay Jay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie has chosen Hydraulix 13.5 - D.A.V.E. the Drummer & Alex Calver as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
17 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jay Jay! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
28 - 20 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Aaron Gracie! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Robert Douchet and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jay doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Gracie misses the shot to the body. Gracie uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Jay. Gracie chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Jay can pounce on him.
Gracie lands a body shot.
Gracie fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Jay uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gracie.
Gracie digs a good hook to Jay's body.
Jay moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Gracie throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Jay stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Gracie has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Jay. Gracie takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Jay throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Gracie counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Jay! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Gracie controlling the position easily from mount. Gracie thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. A nice elbow there by Gracie. The referee warns Jay that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Gracie is in the full mount, landing strikes. Jay is squirming around, avoiding Gracie's attempts to control the action. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Gracie scores with a couple of good head shots there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jay tries to lock up and control but Gracie gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Jay is trying desperately to improve position. Gracie lands a heavy elbow.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gracie takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Gracie thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gracie connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Jay tries to reverse the position but Gracie maintains control. Gracie throws some wild stikes that Jay manages to avoid easily.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Gracie lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Jay hang on? Gracie controlling the position easily from mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Aaron Gracie dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Jay ducks under a wild hook from Gracie. Jay throws a head kick that misses. Jay connects with a right hand. Gracie shakes it off. A jab from Gracie misses. Gracie lands a right hook to the body.
Gracie with a body punch. A glancing blow. Gracie shoots in looking for a takedown but Jay manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gracie's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Gracie avoids the head kick by Jay.
Gracie has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Gracie shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jay but Jay pushes him off and we're back to square one. Gracie thows a body shot but no joy. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gracie is defended easily by Jay. Jay Jay has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aaron Gracie. Gracie takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Gracie takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Jay throws the kick towards the body but Gracie avoids it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jay ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Jay scores with a leg kick.
Jay punishes Gracie's body with a nice straight punch. Jay Jay is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. A punch combination from Gracie misses. Jay lands a really nice looking cross but Gracie seems unphased.
Aaron Gracie seems to be getting the better of the standup. Gracie throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Jay scoring well with a low kick there.
Gracie takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Gracie is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Jay rather than just go for the knockout. Jay takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Jay keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Jay finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Jay throws a front kick aimed at Gracie's knee but Gracie avoids it well. Gracie misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Jay.
Jay throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. A slapping body kick lands there for Jay. Gracie ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jay moves away. Jay misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Gracie.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gracie misses with a wild body shot. Jay with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Gracie fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Jay paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Jay throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Jay misses with a hook. Gracie ducked under it nicely. Gracie rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jay moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Some bone on bone action there as Gracie checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Jay jabbing away but nothing is landing. Jay takes a shot right to the bread basket. Gracie misses with a shot to the body and Jay counters with an inside leg kick. Gracie misses the shot to the body. Gracie looks to score with a jab to the body but Jay is just out of range. Jay scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Jay is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Gracie misses with a body shot.

Jay misses with a straight left. Gracie changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jay tries to avoid it but Gracie manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jay to the ground. Jay escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Jay thumps Gracie with a low kick. Gracie throws a shot to the body.
Gracie tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. A looping hook to the body misses from Gracie. Jay does a little dance to reset his feet. Jay takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Gracie's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Jay tries a head kick but it misses.

Jay cracks Gracie with a right hand to the side of the head. Jay throws a half hearted mid kick. Gracie moves out of range of the body kick from Jay.
Gracie feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Gracie throws a strike but Jay rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
That's four minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Gracie looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Jay puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Aaron Gracie has got the better of the ground game so far. Gracie slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Jay postures up.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Gracie is controlling Jay's posture. Jay trying to control but Gracie is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Jay Jay will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Gracie slips a jab from Jay. Jay Jay seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jay's corner calls for a 1-2. Jay obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Jay misses with an uppercut. Gracie saw that one coming. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Gracie. Gracie scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Gracie is thwarting Jay's attempts to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie prevents Jay from improving his position. Gracie wants to pass to mount but Jay is defending the position. Still in half guard, Gracie seems content to control. Jay is refusing to be controlled, as Gracie sits in half guard. Gracie controlling the action here.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Aaron Gracie. Gracie misses with a wild body shot. Jay throws a nice inside leg kick. Gracie drives through with a takedown into Jay's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Gracie missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Gracie wants to pass the guard but Jay is keeping the position. Gracie showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Gracie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jay swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jay has Gracie pulled in close to control his posture. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Jay keeping full guard, as Gracie tries to pass.
We're going to have a standup here because Jay Jay wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Jay misses with a telegraphed body shot
enabling Gracie to counter with a crisp jab. Jay takes a body punch but keeps moving. Gracie shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Gracie was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Gracie tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Jay holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Gracie tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jay avoids a series of strikes thrown by Gracie.
Jay is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Gracie looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Gracie controlling from mount. Gracie working the ground and pound effectively.
And that's the end of the fight! Aaron Gracie comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Gracie has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
