Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Oscar Andres! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Joe Jackson! The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Paul Gruel and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Andres stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Andres wants it to stay on the feet. Joe Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Andres connects with a good right hand that stumbles Jackson. Jackson circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Andres scores with a takedown into Jackson's guard. Andres trying to control but Jackson is working from the bottom. Andres controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Andres stopping the sweep attempt from Jackson. Jackson trying to keep a closed guard but Andres is proving a slippery customer.
That's one minute gone in the round. Andres trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Jackson working a defensive guard here.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Jackson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Andres seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jackson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Andres is adopting a defensive guard. Jackson stopping the sweep attempt from Andres.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Jackson is looking to take a break and control but Andres is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Andres tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Jackson cranks the arm and Andres screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Andres, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
