Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Michael Vic!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Stephen Marshal!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Roger Salmon and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vic shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Marshal sprawls well. Marshal wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Vic gets slowly back to his feet.
Marshal shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Vic eats them both and turns towards Marshal to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.


Michael Vic's cut is getting worse.

Marshal fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Vic, pushing him back against the cage.
Marshal pushes Vic back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Marshal throws a right hand that Vic ducks under and follows up with a left that Vic also avoids with ease.

Jeez, Michael Vic's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
Marshal has had enough of the clinch but Vic keeps him there for the moment.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Vic has a closed guard, preventing Marshal from standing up.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Marshal moves into range and clinches up with Vic.
Marshal softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Marshal lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Marshal tries to circle away but Vic has him pinned against the cage.
Marshal prevents the takedown attempt.
Vic throws a punch but it's blocked by Marshal.
Vic keeps control of Marshal as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Marshal lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Marshal is trying to break the clinch but Vic has him pressed against the cage.
Marshal has had enough of the clinch but Vic keeps him there for the moment.
Vic is working for takedown but Marshal is calmly controlling the position for now.
Marshal is pressed up against the cage. Vic has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Marshal down to the mat. Marshal avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Michael Vic. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Vic throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Marshal's waist but Marshal gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Vic off to one side.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Nice takedown defense from Marshal. No joy for Vic on that attempt.
Vic doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Oooooh!!! Marshal has knocked Vic down with a huge combo! Marshal steps away and waves a wobbly Vic back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
