PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kara Hiri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daisuke Suzuki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hiri comes to the cage accompanied by Society. Suzuki is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Stranglehold by Ted Nugent. Kara Hiri could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Daisuke Suzuki's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Kara Hiri!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Daisuke Suzuki!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Micheangelo Fripello and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hiri is looking to land body kicks.
Suzuki gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Good shot there by Suzuki.

Suzuki connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Hiri's hands.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hiri misses with a double jab
and Suzuki counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Hiri dips to his left and cracks Suzuki with an uppercut!
Hiri throws a series of punches but Suzuki avoids them all with ease.
Suzuki throws a head kick but Hiri moves out of range.
Suzuki tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hiri was well out of range. Poor timing from Suzuki.
Suzuki pivots, looking for a leg kick but Hiri is out of range and Suzuki settles back down.
Suzuki connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Suzuki lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Suzuki looks to land a right hand but Hiri moved out of range.
Suzuki lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Suzuki darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Hiri scores with a crisp jab that stopped Suzuki in his tracks.
Hiri misses with a hook.
Suzuki lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Kara Hiri is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Suzuki slips a straight right by Hiri.
Hiri misses with a hook. Suzuki ducked under it nicely.
Hiri checks a low kick from Suzuki.
Suzuki will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Hiri throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Suzuki jabs at Hiri's body.
Suzuki keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Hiri throws a leg kick that misses.
Suzuki scores with a jab to the head.
Hiri ducks under a wild hook from Suzuki.
Suzuki misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Hiri counters with a straight right hand.
Suzuki throws a jab when Hiri was well out of range.
Hiri swings widly with a right hand
and Suzuki counters with a body kick that stops Hiri in his tracks momentarily.
Hiri throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Suzuki fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hiri manages to avoid it.
Suzuki lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Hiri looks to land a left hand but Suzuki moved out of range nicely.
Suzuki is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Hiri had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hiri bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Suzuki's head backwards.
Hiri misses with a looping right.
Suzuki lands a nice leg kick that just misses Hiri's sensitive parts.
Hiri throws the left hand but Suzuki avoids the punch easily.
Suzuki jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Hiri misses with a looping left.

Suzuki throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Hiri stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Suzuki follows into mount!


Hiri is rocked!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Suzuki postures up and throws a big right hand. BOOM! Right on the button! Hiri is out cold - huge knockout for Suzuki!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Daisuke Suzuki!
