The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Thiago Cunha and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hammouche feints and then cracks Bateman's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Bateman down.
Hammouche lunges at Bateman with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Bateman's hand.
Bateman connects with a nice looking jab.
Bateman gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hammouche connects with an inside leg kick.
Bateman chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Hammouche can pounce on him.
Hammouche connects with a leg kick. Bateman looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Bateman takes one to the side of the head.
Hammouche throws the kick towards the body but Bateman avoids it.
Bateman looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Hammouche lands a high kick!
Bateman misses with a jab, cross combination.
Hammouche connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Bateman looks gassed!
Hammouche does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Hammouche scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Hammouche keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Bateman dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Hammouche cracks Bateman with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Hammouche with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Hammouche is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Bateman chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Hammouche can pounce on him.
Brock Bateman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bateman fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Hammouche thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Bateman if he has to take too many more of those.
Bateman walks straight into a right hand from Hammouche - that's dropped him! Hammouche jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Bateman from any more punishment! Bateman complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
