Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Andreas Ottosson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Samuraimo Rassi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Ottosson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Clawfinger - Biggest & The Best. Rassi has chosen Damian Marley - It Was Written as his entrance music. Samuraimo Rassi has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Samuraimo Rassi! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Roger Salmon and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rassi misses with a kick to the body.
Rassi pushes Ottosson up against the cage in a clinch. Rassi lands a nice knee to the body. Rassi connects with a nasty looking knee right to Ottosson's face.
It looks like Andreas Ottosson has been cut. Ottosson content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Rassi leaves Ottosson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Ottosson fails to land the takedown. Rassi stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Rassi throws a front kick that sends Ottosson stumbling back into the cage. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Rassi lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Rassi takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Rassi crunches a lovely knee into Ottosson's ribcage. Rassi scores a nice knee to the body.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Ottosson has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Rassi avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Rassi has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Knees in the clinch landing for Rassi.

Rassi regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Rassi is looking to stand up but Ottosson isn't so interested in that idea. Ottosson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rassi works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Rassi is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Ottosson is controlling him. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ottosson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Ottosson passes Rassi's left leg - he's now in half guard. Ottosson prevents Rassi from standing back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Ottosson with the ground and pound but Rassi uses the opportunity to regain guard. Ottosson sitting in guard, not really doing much. Ottosson postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Rassi is looking to stand up but Ottosson isn't so interested in that idea. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Ottosson wants to pass the guard but Rassi is keeping the position. Rassi uses the cage to get back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Rassi closes the distance and clinches. Samuraimo Rassi is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Rassi connects with a nasty looking knee right to Ottosson's face.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Andreas Ottosson. I think Rassi has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
