Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Randall McMurphy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stuart Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Stuart Ward was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Randall McMurphy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Stuart Ward! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ward tries to score a power double leg takedown but McMurphy sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ward somewhat. Ward tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. McMurphy stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Ward misses the body punch and McMurphy makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Ward slips a jab from McMurphy. Ward closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. McMurphy quickly recovers to half guard. McMurphy trying to hold on to Ward's head to control him but Ward postures up.
Ward tries to pass the half guard into mount. McMurphy knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. McMurphy is trying to control but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. McMurphy is looking for a sweep. Ward is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Ward missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Ward thows a huge punch but McMurphy dodges it nicely.
McMurphy is trying to get back to full guard. McMurphy moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. McMurphy trying to keep a closed guard but Ward is proving a slippery customer.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McMurphy is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Ward lands an elbow just above McMurphy 's eye. Ward tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
McMurphy pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. McMurphy connects with a jab. McMurphy leaves Ward with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. McMurphy ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Ward fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Randall McMurphy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stuart Ward. McMurphy ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ward moves away. Ward shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as McMurphy sprawls well. McMurphy wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ward gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McMurphy keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Ward fails miserably with a takedown attempt. McMurphy connects with a body shot. Ward is looking to clinch. Ward throws a right and a left that McMurphy avoids nicely. Ward drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Ward moves in looking to clinch but McMurphy pushes him off. Stuart Ward seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. McMurphy paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. McMurphy misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Ward.

McMurphy is looking to break free of the clinch but Ward has double underhooks. Ward manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ward scores with a takedown into McMurphy's guard. Ward trying to control but McMurphy is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Randall McMurphy dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

McMurphy throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Ward on the side of the head. Randall McMurphy is winning the standup battle so far. McMurphy misses the shot to the body. Ward blocks a jab. Ward closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Ward is looking to take a break and control but McMurphy is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Ward prevents McMurphy from escaping the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McMurphy wants to control but Ward postures up. Ward trying to control the action but McMurphy is working from the bottom. McMurphy sneaks back into half guard. Ward is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! McMurphy has his hands clasped together around Ward's back. He's all about the action.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Ward avoids a punch combination nicely.
McMurphy ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Ward tries to close the distance and clinch but McMurphy swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. McMurphy blocks a head kick by Ward.
McMurphy scores with a hook. Ward looks for a takedown but McMurphy sprawls well. Randall McMurphy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stuart Ward.

It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and McMurphy wants it to stay on the feet. Nice takedown defense from McMurphy. No joy for Ward on that attempt. McMurphy tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! McMurphy tries to clinch but Ward moves out of range. Ward takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. McMurphy gets in close and instigates a clinch. Ward taking a break, stalling in the clinch.

It looks like Randall McMurphy has been cut. Ward lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Nice elbow from Ward. Ward misses with a knee to the head. Ward misses with some punches.
McMurphy avoids a wild elbow strike from Ward. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ward takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. A decent looking cross lands there for McMurphy. McMurphy tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Ward shoots in for a double leg but McMurphy sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Ward gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. McMurphy drops Ward with a left right combo! McMurphy follows him down to the ground into side control.
Ward is rocked! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! McMurphy wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ward keeps working. McMurphy takes a little break here. Ward wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. What's Ward going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sloppy strikes there by McMurphy. You can see the frustration on Ward's face as McMurphy controls the position. McMurphy wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ward keeps working. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. McMurphy moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Ward tries to bench press McMurphy off him but McMurphy keeps the position. Randall McMurphy is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McMurphy is staying tight to Ward's torso, preventing him from escaping. Ward is the more experienced fighter here and he's going to need to draw on some of that experience if he's going to pull this one out the bag.

Ward lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Ward gets cracked with a nice right hand there by McMurphy. McMurphy scores with a body shot.
Ward throws a half hearted mid kick. McMurphy throws a right hand that Ward ducks under and follows up with a left that Ward also avoids with ease. Nice sprawl there from McMurphy as Ward shoots in. McMurphy tests Ward's chin there with a solid looking shot. McMurphy closes the distance and clinches.

Ward is struggling to control the position. Ward looks to throw an elbow but misses. McMurphy blocks an elbow strike. McMurphy is trying to break the clinch but Ward is controlling him. Ward with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
With the fighters up against the cage, Ward throws an elbow but misses. Ward using the Thai plumb to throw knees but McMurphy has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
McMurphy wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Ward lands a nice elbow. McMurphy blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. McMurphy has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. McMurphy breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Nice sprawl there from McMurphy as Ward shoots in. Randall McMurphy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stuart Ward. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. McMurphy lands a jab. McMurphy scores with a nice head shot. Stuart Ward has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! McMurphy jabs Ward to the body, keeping him at a distance.
And that's the end of the fight! Randall McMurphy showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for McMurphy, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
