The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Canseco fails with a takedown attempt.

Supermies just misses with a punch to the body.
Canseco is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Supermies.
It looks like Jose Canseco has been cut.

Canseco shoots for a double leg takedown but Supermies sprawls well. He's pushed Canseco 's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Canseco 's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Canseco seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Supermies does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Supermies bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Canseco 's guard.

Canseco stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Supermies swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Well Supermies has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
