Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between James Cam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randy Cote (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Randy Cote is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Cam! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Randy Cote! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Gwen Towbar and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cam tries to clinch up but Cote circles away and keeps his distance. Cam tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Cam wants to clinch but Cote slips to the side and Cote counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Cote drops down looking for an ankle pick but Cam pulls his leg out and moves away.
Cam looks to clinch and Cote counters with a nice double leg into guard. Cam wants to get back to his feet but Cote is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Cote trying to control but Cam is working from the bottom. Cote postures up in Cam's guard and throws a big left but Cam blocks it. Cam working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Cote.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cote passes Cam's left leg - he's now in half guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Cote in particular looking to stall. Cote not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Cote has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Cote seems to be working for a kimura but Cam defends the submission attempt. Cote missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Cam knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cote on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cam is trying to stand.
Cote is looking to advance position but Cam won't allow it. Cam is staying active underneath Cote, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Cote sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Cam defending well though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cote throwing shots but Cam is blocking nicely. Cote tries to pass the half guard into mount. Cam knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Randy Cote has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Cote bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Cote tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Cote controls the position from side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cote working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Cam wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Cote tries to advance to mount but Cam denies him. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Randy Cote dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Cote gets the takedown into side control. Cote cracks Cam with a big elbow. Cote is trying to get an arm triangle but Cam is defending well. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Cote wants to control but Cam is keeping him busy. Cote tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Cote has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's one minute gone in the round. An elbow from Cote crashes against the mat.
Cote misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Cam stops Cote from passing to mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Cam parries the strikes from Cote easily there. Cote is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Cam to escape.
Cote working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Cote taking a breather here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cote tries to move to mount but Cam blocks the move with his legs. Cote is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Cam has escaped the position, nice work there. Cote fails to land a wild elbow strike.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Cote connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Cam some visible discomfort.
Cote stands up and we're back to a striking position. Cote circles away from the clinch attempt.
Cote clinches. A frustrated look appears on Cote's face as he tries to break the clinch. A nice glancing elbow lands by Cam. Cote jumps guard but Cam stands there with Cote around his waist. Cote gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Randy Cote showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Cam tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Cote counters with a shoot takedown. Cam fights it but they end up in guard. Cote drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Cam dives on top into guard. Cote is trying to keep Cam in close.
Cote lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Cam! Cote can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Cam is looking to escape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cote takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cote goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Cam turns into him and now he's in Cote's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cote is trying to control the position but Cam postures up. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Randy Cote hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Cam fails with an attempt to clinch.
Cam closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Cam is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cam crunches a lovely knee into Cote's ribcage. Cam keeps control of Cote as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Cote gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Cam regains guard.
Cote wants to control from the top but Cam keeps moving. Cote wants to pass the guard but Cam is keeping the position. Cam working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Cote.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cote drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Cam dives on top into guard. Cote looking to control.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Randy Cote. Cam wants to clinch and Cote counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Cam's guard now. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cote accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Cam is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Cote dives into side control.
James Cam has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Randy Cote is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Cote trying to control the position but Cam is working away.
And that's the end of the fight! Randy Cote comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Cote winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
