Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Eric Shields (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Laurent Blanc (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Laurent Blanc!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blanc throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Shields's waist but Shields gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Blanc off to one side.
Blanc fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Shields.
Shields tries to close the distance and clinch but Blanc swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Shields tries to clinch up but Blanc circles away and keeps his distance.
Blanc closes the distance and clinches up with Shields, looking for a takedown. Blanc pushes Shields against the cage but Shields circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Eric Shields has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Laurent Blanc.
Shields closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Blanc's guard.
Shields passes Blanc's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Shields is looking to advance position but Blanc won't allow it.
The fighters are battling for position here. Blanc manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Blanc is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Blanc has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Blanc wants to finish this one by submission but Shields is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Blanc.

Shields is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Blanc moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Shields has worked his arm free - good work by Shields!
Blanc tries for a kimura but Shields is defending well.
Shields is looking for a sweep.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Blanc advances to mount.
Shields is trying to escape the mount.
Blanc goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Shields turns into him and now he's in Blanc's guard.
Blanc pushes Shields off and scrambles back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Shields lands a nice leg kick that just misses Blanc's sensitive parts.
Shields tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Blanc manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Blanc tries for a takedown but Shields sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Shields clinches.
Shields breaks the clinch.
Shields wants to clinch up but Blanc keeps it at a distance.
Shields shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Blanc sprawls well. Blanc wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Shields gets slowly back to his feet.
Blanc moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Shields closes the distance and clinches.
Blanc wants to break the clinch but can't.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Shields manages to break the clinch.
Blanc shoots in for a takedown but Shields shows good takedown defense.
Shields looking to score a takedown here. Blanc is defending well but Shields drives through and ends up in Blanc's guard.
Shields has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Shields is posturing up here but Blanc has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Shields tries to roll out but it's too tight and Shields has to tap! Slick submission there by Blanc!
