The judges for this bout are James Glass, William Gold and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rooney tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Larsen manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Larsen is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Rooney to keep the fight standing.

Larsen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rooney swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Rooney shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Larsen counters with a slapping leg kick.

Larsen shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Rooney defends it nicely.
Larsen shoots in but Rooney avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Evans Rooney has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anders Larsen.

Rooney is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Larsen is aware though and is defending well.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Larsen is pushing down on Rooney's leg trying to pass to half guard. Rooney is fighting to maintain full guard but Larsen has managed to sneak the leg through.

Larsen seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rooney does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Larsen frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Rooney tries to hold on but Larsen pushes him away.
Rooney is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Larsen locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Rooney is forced to tap!
