Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Walt Potter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ted Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Potter comes into the arena with Emalkay - When I Look At You blaring out of the sound system. Ted Anderson has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 7 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Walt Potter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ted Anderson!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Yves DeLean and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Potter misses with a wild combination.

Potter shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Potter showed some decent athleticism there.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Potter looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Potter wants to take a breather but Anderson is having none of it.
Potter throwing shots but Anderson is blocking nicely.
Anderson is refusing to be controlled, as Potter sits in half guard.
Anderson is trying to stand up here but Potter is controlling him well.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Anderson can do anything to dispel that myth.

Potter throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Potter has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Anderson is trying to control but can't.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Potter throws a combination. Anderson tries to block but a couple of punches get through.


It looks like Ted Anderson has been cut.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Potter manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Anderson on his heels. He'll look to pass Anderson's guard now, I'm sure.

Anderson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Potter. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Potter tries to free his leg and advance position but Anderson is retaining full guard.
Potter stands and throws Anderson's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Anderson dodges the ground and pound from Potter.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Potter tries to advance to mount but Anderson denies him.

Anderson wants to control but Potter postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Potter gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Anderson.
Walt Potter is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Potter shoots in for a takedown but Anderson shows good takedown defense.
Potter moves out of range of the strikes.
Anderson scores with a punch to the head.
Potter slips a jab and a cross from Anderson.
Anderson swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Potter counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
A left and a right from Anderson both land. Nice combination.
Anderson misses with a series of wild punches.
Potter ducks under a wild hook from Anderson.

Anderson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Potter moves away.
Anderson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Anderson wants it to stay on the feet.
Potter shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Anderson but Anderson pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Walt Potter. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Anderson clinches up with Potter and pushes him back against the cage.

Potter has clasped his hands together around Anderson's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Anderson is trying to control Potter's posture but Potter avoids it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Potter lands an elbow.
Anderson can't do much from the bottom here.
Potter tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Potter grinds an elbow into Anderson's temple.
Potter postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Potter is trying to ground and pound but Anderson uses the momentary lack of control by Potter to regain half guard.
Potter is looking to stall here but Anderson recovers full guard.

Anderson wants to stand but Potter is controlling the position.
Potter looking to pass the guard.
Anderson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Potter throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Anderson misses with a straight left.

Potter cracks Anderson with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Potter is landing with some decent strikes but Anderson is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Potter takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Anderson is working to get back to half guard.
Potter controlling his opponent.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Potter cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Potter thowing shots but they're missing.

Potter is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Potter lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.


Ted Anderson's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Ted Anderson's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Walt Potter!
