Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Barney Phife (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Galt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Phife might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Fernandinho - Mais Alto. Galt comes into a darkened arena with his song building. State of the Union by Rise Against kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Phife swings widly with a right hand
and Phife takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Phife lands with a hook. Galt tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Phife looks to score with a jab to the body but Galt is just out of range.
Galt avoids the body shot from Phife.
Galt misses with a series of wild punches.
Phife throws a jab but it's blocked by Galt.
Galt looks for the body kick but Phife saw that one coming.
The crowd cheers as Phife lands an impressive looking overhand right. Galt doesn't seem phased though.
Phife misses with a jab to the body
and Galt counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Phife thinking.
Phife throws a quick inside leg kick.
Phife blocks a jab.
Galt slips a straight right by Phife.
Phife throws the left hand but Galt avoids the punch easily.
Galt misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Phife throws a hook to the side of Galt's head but Galt sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Phife throws a big shot that misses.

Phife takes one on the button.
Galt takes a swing at Phife's ribcage but misses.
Galt checks the leg kick nicely there.
Phife throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Galt on the side of the head.
Galt misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

A big left from Phife misses.
Phife throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
The fighters circle momentarily. Phife darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Galt scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Phife lands with a right hand.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Phife attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Phife throws out a loose jab but Galt uses good head movement to avoid it.
Barney Phife seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Phife just misses with a punch to the body.
Phife misses with a double jab.

Phife cracks Galt with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Phife takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Phife uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Phife throws a right hand that misses
and Galt counters with a head kick that drops Phife to the mat! Phife scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
Phife lands with a cross.
Phife throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Phife is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Galt gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Phife is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Galt pushes off an throws an elbow but Phife leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Galt lands a big knee to the head and Phife goes down! Galt pounces and finishes the fight with strikes! He jumps to his feet and celebrates with the crowd!
