Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marcos Paulo Dias Teixeira! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Reeves! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Eddie Farnsworth and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reeves misses with an attempted mid kick.
Reeves shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Dias Teixeira napping and manages to drive through into side control! Reeves decides to stand back up. Reeves feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Reeves missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Reeves pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Dias Teixeira is keeping the position for now. Reeves gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Dias Teixeira is breathing heavily. Reeves lands a nice looking body kick. Dias Teixeira sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Danga de danga de dang - Reeves scores with a four punch combination! Reeves throws a series of strikes that have Dias Teixeira backpedaling.
Dias Teixeira fails with a takedown attempt. Reeves pulls out of a head kick attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reeves jabs at Dias Teixeira's body. Reeves lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Dias Teixeira gets caught flat footed, as Reeves shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Reeves missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Reeves working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Reeves content to stall in guard here. Reeves scoring with punches to the head and body. Reeves stands up and waves to Dias Teixeira to follow him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Reeves closes the distance and lands a one-two. Reeves moves into the clinch. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Reeves breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Reeves clinches up with Dias Teixeira and pushes him back against the cage. Reeves is pressed up against the cage. Dias Teixeira has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Reeves down to the mat. Reeves avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Reeves instigates a clinch. Reeves breaks from the clinch.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Reeves pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Reeves shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Reeves scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Reeves postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Dias Teixeira looks a forlorn figure.
Reeves throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Reeves controlling his opponent. Dias Teixeira is bucking up trying to escape but Reeves cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Reeves controlling from mount. Reeves connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Reeves can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Dias Teixeira is looking to escape. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joe Reeves dominated that round. That's time! Dias Teixeira's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Dias Teixeira with a poor takedown and Reeves counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Reeves throws the kick towards the body but Dias Teixeira avoids it. Reeves pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Reeves has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Dias Teixeira avoids the head kick by Reeves.
Reeves drives through and clinches with Dias Teixeira against the cage.
Dias Teixeira is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Reeves is defending well. Reeves successfully pulls guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Reeves looking for a sweep. Not yet Reeves, not yet. Dias Teixeira wants to control from the top but Reeves keeps moving. Reeves looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reeves throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dias Teixeira is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Reeves is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Reeves has escaped and now he's on top! Reeves is stalling in the full guard. Reeves is looking to work some ground and pound but Dias Teixeira has wrist control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dias Teixeira keeping moving, preventing Reeves from controlling successfully. Reeves might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Dias Teixeira kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Reeves not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Joe Reeves was stalling too much, according to the referee. A chopping leg kick lands by Reeves. A right-left combo lands from Reeves. Reeves moves into the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Reeves has picked Dias Teixeira up - he's going for a ride! Reeves dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Reeves throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Dias Teixeira to regain full guard. Reeves stands up from guard. Let's bang! Dias Teixeira gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Reeves to score an easy takedown into full guard. Reeves gets to his feet - Dias Teixeira follows without any prompting. Crunch! Reeves slams his shin into Dias Teixeira's torso. Reeves throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Dias Teixeira swings and misses with a hook to the body.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Reeves shoots in and gets a takedown into Dias Teixeira's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dias Teixeira looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Reeves puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Reeves is keen to just control but Dias Teixeira is a slippery customer. Reeves sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Dias Teixeira defending well though. Dias Teixeira won't allow Reeves to pass to mount. Dias Teixeira avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Reeves. Reeves controlling the action here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Dias Teixeira is not content to let Reeves control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joe Reeves showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Reeves fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Dias Teixeira to the ground. Reeves is now in Dias Teixeira's guard. Reeves is stalling in the full guard. Reeves stands up and waves to Dias Teixeira to follow him. Reeves throws a sloppy head kick and Dias Teixeira counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Reeves's guard now. Dias Teixeira looking to pass the guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Dias Teixeira trying to stand up but can't free himself from Reeves's guard. Reeves pushes Dias Teixeira off and scrambles back to his feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reeves closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Reeves lands in his opponent's guard. Reeves loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Reeves wants to pass the guard but Dias Teixeira is keeping the position. Reeves lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Reeves wanted to stand there but Dias Teixeira had control of the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Reeves advances position into side control! Dias Teixeira tries to buck Reeves off but Reeves is having none of it. Reeves scores with a couple of short elbows. Reeves scores with a couple of short elbows. Reeves in side control lands a decent elbow. Dias Teixeira is not content to let Reeves control the position. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Reeves is putting a hurting on Dias Teixeira here, landing some big shots from side control.

Reeves shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Reeves showed some decent athleticism there. Dias Teixeira is refusing to be controlled, as Reeves sits in half guard. Joe Reeves has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dias Teixeira gets back to full guard.
Reeves decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Dias Teixeira, up you get! Reeves shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. This has been an exciting period of action! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Dias Teixeira takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Reeves tries to control but Dias Teixeira wriggling away.
And that's the end of the fight! Joe Reeves comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Reeves has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
