Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between James Sahebt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Haws (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Haws has chosen The Garden's All Nighters as his entrance music. Jon Haws has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with James Sahebt's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, James Sahebt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jon Haws!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Bruno Hogan and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sahebt tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Haws paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Haws throws a right hand that Sahebt ducks under and follows up with a left that Sahebt also avoids with ease.
Haws lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Sahebt with a lazy takedown attempt
and Haws counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Haws scores with a spinning back kick!
Haws scores with a jab to the jaw.

Sahebt shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Haws is working to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sahebt trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sahebt tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment.

Sahebt is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Haws is surviving well by controlling Sahebt's body position as best he can.

Haws defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Sahebt.

Haws avoids a series of strikes thrown by Sahebt.
Haws sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Haws is looking to improve his position.
Haws is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Haws is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Sahebt pulls his head out easily.

Sahebt is looking for a kimura but Haws is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Sahebt to get the leverage.

Sahebt seems to be looking for submissions.

Sahebt is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Sahebt is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Haws wants to control but Sahebt is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Sahebt is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Haws doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Sahebt.

Sahebt thows a huge punch but Haws dodges it nicely.
Haws wants to improve his position but Sahebt is controlling well.

Haws wants to control but Sahebt is keeping busy.
Haws is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Sahebt is staying active.
Sahebt tries to pass the half guard into mount. Haws knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Sahebt takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Haws tries to get to full guard but Sahebt has control of the leg.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Sahebt is working for a kimura but Haws is defending it quite comfortably.
Haws is looking for a sweep. Sahebt is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Sahebt thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Haws's head.
Sahebt tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Sahebt is just content to waste time from the top position. Haws takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sahebt trying to control the position from guard on top but Haws is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Sahebt throwing strikes but missing.

Haws is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Sahebt defends well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Haws escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sahebt gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Sahebt wants to pass the guard but Haws is keeping the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that James Sahebt will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Sahebt throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Haws's waist but Haws gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sahebt off to one side.
Sahebt dives in and grabs Haws's left leg, looking for a takedown. Haws pushes down on Sahebt's head and hops out.
Sahebt takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Haws lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Sahebt is defended easily by Haws.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Sahebt. That's going to take a lot out of him.
No joy there for Haws, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Haws stuffs the takedown attempt from Sahebt. Sahebt gets slowly back to his feet.
Sahebt has a takedown stuffed.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Sahebt thuds a left hand into Haws's body.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nice takedown defense from Haws. No joy for Sahebt on that attempt.
Haws lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Sahebt misses with a takedown attempt
and Haws counters with a lovely straight right hand!
James Sahebt is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Haws lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Sahebt backs up against the cage.


Sahebt is rocked!
Haws scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Oh Sahebt is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Haws scores with a nice right hand.
Sahebt shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Haws counters with an outside leg kick.
Sahebt is sent reeling backwards by a solid uppercut. He barely regains his balance and Haws moves in for the kill throwing a continuous barrage of punches that force the ref to step in.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jon Haws!
