The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Suggs throws a solid leg kick but Shigaru takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Suggs.
Shigaru avoids the head kick by Suggs.
Suggs tries a head kick but it misses.
Shigaru tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Suggs swivels and escapes.
Suggs gets caught flat footed, as Shigaru shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Shigaru lands a couple of elbows.

Shigaru makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Shigaru is working Suggs over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Shigaru distracts Suggs with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Shigaru gets to his feet and stands over Suggs, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Suggs felt that one! Shigaru unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Suggs from any more punishment!
