Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jose Pinto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oswaldo Barra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jose Pinto! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Oswaldo Barra! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Seu Braga and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A big left from Pinto misses. Pinto is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Barra. Barra uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Pinto. Barra tries to clinch up but Pinto circles away and keeps his distance. Pinto jabbing away but nothing is landing. Pinto shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Pinto engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Barra controls Pinto momentarily but Pinto frees himself. Barra throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Barra has his foot on Pinto's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Pinto works his way back into a safe position though. Pinto is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Pinto got a little sloppy there for a moment and Barra has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Pinto has managed to get both his arms back between Barra's legs - danger averted.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barra looking for a guillotine here but Pinto defends easily.
Pinto is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Barra has momentary wrist control but Pinto slips an elbow through the middle. Barra can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Pinto controls the pace.
Jose Pinto has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Pinto lands a nice looking body shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pinto throws a jab when Barra was well out of range. Pinto drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Pinto tries for a kimura but Barra is defending well. Barra pushes Pinto away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Pinto gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Pinto has knee on belly and moves into mount. Barra tries to hold on but Pinto postures up. Pinto controlling the pace for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barra in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Barra tries to get back to half guard but can't. Barra wants to control but Pinto is having none of it. Pinto controlling from the full mount. Barra wants to control but Pinto is having none of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pinto takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
We're going to have a standup here because Jose Pinto wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Barra takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Nice takedown defense from Pinto. No joy for Barra on that attempt. Barra tries to clinch there but Pinto circles away.
A cross from Pinto lands. Pinto swats away the attempt to clinch by Barra. Barra has closed the distance and engaged Pinto in a clinch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Pinto lands an elbow just above Barra 's eye. Barra being controlled against the cage. Pinto escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jose Pinto dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Pinto displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Barra. Barra tries to clinch but Pinto is having none of it. Barra tries to close the distance and clinch but Pinto swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Pinto shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Pinto wants to work for an arm triangle but Barra is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Pinto working Barra over with strikes. Barra is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Well, if Pinto is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That's one minute gone in the round. Barra looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Pinto stalling. Pinto works his way into full mount! Pinto in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.

Pinto is riding his opponent, not letting Barra buck him off. Pinto's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Barra is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Barra trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. Pinto working for the choke. Pinto controlling from the back. Pinto has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Jose Pinto just wasn't active enough. Barra with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Pinto to score with a decent uppercut. Pinto is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Barra. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Danga de danga de dang - Pinto scores with a four punch combination! Barra gets the takedown into side control. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Pinto is looking for a sweep. Pinto wants to control but Barra postures up. Barra is trying to get an arm triangle but Pinto is defending well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Pinto has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Barra gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Pinto performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Barra actively working from the bottom here. Barra is looking to control Pinto's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Barra avoid being mounted? Barra tries to get to full guard but Pinto has control of the leg.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barra looking for submissions off his back. Pinto keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Pinto works his way into full mount! Jose Pinto overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Barra is trying to escape the mount.

Pinto looking to control and managing it successfully. Barra wants to control but Pinto is having none of it. Barra swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Barra is looking to improve his position but Pinto isn't that keen on the idea. Pinto postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Barra looks a forlorn figure.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pinto pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Pinto controlling the pace for now. Pinto lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Pinto prevents Barra from getting the reversal. Pinto looking to control and managing it successfully. Pinto gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Barra uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Pinto.
Barra tries to sprawl but Pinto drives through with a takedown into half guard. Pinto moves into full mount! Barra won't be happy about that! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Barra looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Barra trying to control the action but Pinto just sinks the hooks in. Pinto is working the ground and pound. Can Barra escape? Barra breaks Pinto's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Pinto lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Barra! Barra is looking to improve his position but Pinto isn't that keen on the idea. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Pinto seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Barra is holding on tight.
And that's the end of the fight! Jose Pinto showed his dominance in that final round. Well Pinto has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
