Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Royce Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Redfield (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Josh West, Micheangelo Fripello and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva has his takedown stuffed
and Redfield counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Redfield trying to control but Silva is working from the bottom.
Silva throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Redfield wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving.
Silva is adopting a defensive guard.
Redfield trying to control but Silva is working from the bottom.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Chris Redfield hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Redfield swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Redfield clinches up with Silva and pushes him back against the cage.
Redfield with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
It looks like Royce Silva has been cut.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Silva takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Redfield pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

and Redfield counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Silva pulls Redfield in close to his closed guard and prevents Redfield from doing any damage or advancing position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Chris Redfield hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Redfield shoots in and bounces Silva off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Redfield has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Silva is proving hard to escape from.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Silva manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Redfield manages to get himself to full guard.

Redfield avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Silva tries to close the distance and clinch up but Redfield swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Redfield shoots for a double leg takedown but Silva sprawls well. He's pushed Redfield's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Silva cracks Redfield with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
A nice combination there by Redfield.

Redfield has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Silva uses from the top position.
Redfield pushes Silva off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Silva closes the distance and clinches.

Redfield really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Silva. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Silva escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Redfield gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Redfield can do anything to dispel that myth.

Royce Silva has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Redfield shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Silva's guard.

Redfield sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Silva's guard.

I would just about give that final round to Chris Redfield.
Well Redfield has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
