The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boris lands a nice looking body shot.
Beauvais is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Boris's half guard. Beauvais wants to control but Boris is keeping him busy. Boris tries to get to full guard but Beauvais has control of the leg. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Boris gets back to full guard.
Boris bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Beauvais's guard. Boris throwing strikes but missing. Beauvais trying to strike off his back.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Beauvais preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Beauvais seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Beauvais wants to take a breather but Boris is having none of it. Boris avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Beauvais. Boris moves into full guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

No luck for Boris with that takedown attempt. Boris tried to score with a low kick but Beauvais checks it. Boris looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Beauvais throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Boris was covering up waiting for the punch and Beauvais finishes the takedown easily into guard. Boris looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Oh, Boris has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work! Beauvais struggling a bit here. Boris has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Boris lands a decent elbow from side control. Beauvais on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Beauvais tries to get out of the position. Boris in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
