Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Copello (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joao Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Copello comes to the cage accompanied by Por una cabeza - Carlos Gardel. Alves has chosen Carl Orff - Carmina Burana - André Rieu's version as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Copello defending well as Alves loads up on a big left hand.
Alves shoots for a takedown but Copello saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Copello slips a straight right by Alves.
Alves misses with a hook
and Copello counters with a stiff right hand.
It looks like Joao Alves has been cut.
Copello misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Alves lands with a nice body punch.

The fighters circle momentarily. Alves darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Copello ducks under a wild hook from Alves.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Alves shoots in and gets a takedown into Copello's guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Copello looking to hit a scissor sweep but Alves is one step ahead there.

Copello on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Copello tries to get out of the position.

Alves thows a huge punch but Copello dodges it nicely.
Alves is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Copello!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Alves drops a big elbow. That's hurt Copello! More shots from Alves and the ref steps in! The fight is over!
