Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Vince Kershaw! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Steve Mullen! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Edson Gomes and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mullen lands with a nice body kick. Kershaw ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mullen moves away. Mullen is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Kershaw.
It looks like Steve Mullen has been cut. Kershaw looks to land a left hand but Mullen moved out of range nicely. Mullen keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Kershaw. Good leg kick by Mullen there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Kershaw bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Mullen! He dives into his guard looking to finish!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kershaw is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Mullen is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kershaw defends well. Kershaw working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Mullen is trying to keep Kershaw in close.
