Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between George Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrew Lidae (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, George Walker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Andrew Lidae!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Paul Gruel and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walker fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Left hook, right uppercut from Lidae.
Walker lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
George Walker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Walker throws a nice looking combination but Lidae bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Walker tries for a takedown but Lidae sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Walker shoots in for a takedown but Lidae shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for George Walker. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Walker tries to clinch but Lidae is having none of it.
Nice body punch from Lidae.
Lidae looks gassed!

Walker fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lidae sprawls well initially but Walker persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Walker trying to control the action but Lidae is working from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Walker prevents Lidae from standing back up.

Walker is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Lidae won't allow Walker to pass to mount.
Walker is keen to just control but Lidae is a slippery customer.
Walker wants to stand up but Lidae is controlling the position.
Walker wants to control but Lidae is keeping him busy.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Walker lands strikes from half guard.
Walker wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lidae keeps working.
Lidae keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Walker lands a nice short elbow.
Walker thows a huge punch but Lidae dodges it nicely.
Walker working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Walker prevents Lidae from standing back up.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lidae can do anything to dispel that myth.
Walker lands with a punch from half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Well, if Walker is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Walker is looking to advance position but Lidae won't allow it.
Walker thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Lidae's head.
Walker wants to control but Lidae is keeping him busy.
Walker slows the pace down in half guard.

Walker is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lidae keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Walker is keen to just control but Lidae is a slippery customer.
Walker content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lidae is staying active underneath Walker, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

George Walker dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Whack! Walker lands a heavy head kick that drops Lidae. The ref tackles Walker to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Lidae was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). George Walker!
