Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Albert Achterberg and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Vandelay lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Barrera has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Barrera and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Vandelay wants to clinch.
Vandelay defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Barrera.
Vandelay moves out of range as Barrera strikes.
Barrera looks to throw the jab but Vandelay is out of range.
Barrera thows a left - swing and a miss!
Vandelay throws a quick inside leg kick.

and Vandelay makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Barrera swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Vandelay counters with a right hand to the body.
Barrera is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Vandelay.
Vandelay feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Barrera's calf.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Barrera.
Vandelay scores with a jab to the body.

Barrera fails with a takedown attempt.
Art Vandelay has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hugo Barrera.

Barrera tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Vandelay swivels and escapes.
Vandelay closes the distance and pushes Barrera back into the cage.

Vandelay has Barrera pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Barrera is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Vandelay - that's hurt Barrera badly! Oh, another knee lands and Barrera is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Barrera doesn't seem to be complaining.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knees). Art Vandelay!
Art Vandelay was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
