Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Michael Scope (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Peterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scope comes to the cage accompanied by Marry the Canvas!. Peterson has chosen Keine Lust as his entrance music. John Peterson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Michael Scope! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John Peterson! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, John Mangel and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Peterson lets loose with a powerful body kick. Scope will feel that in the morning. Peterson tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Scope is able to avoid easily. Peterson fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Scope checks it well. Peterson is looking to slow Scope down with leg kicks. Peterson throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Scope moves out of range as Peterson throws a body kick.
Peterson misses the shot to the body. Scope throws a right and a left that Peterson avoids nicely. Peterson throws a low kick, looking for Scope's leg but Scope calmly moves out of range. A jab from Scope misses. Scope sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Peterson dodges the punch combination from Scope.
Scope drives through with a takedown into guard. Scope sitting in guard here, content to control. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Scope loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Peterson is looking to stand up but Scope isn't so interested in that idea. Scope trying to control but Peterson is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Scope wants to pass the guard but Peterson is keeping the position. Peterson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Scope controls the pace.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Michael Scope. Scope lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Scope checks a low kick from Peterson. Scope tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Peterson looks to score with a jab to the body but Scope is just out of range. Peterson throws a front kick aimed at Scope's knee but Scope avoids it well. Nice body kick from Peterson. Peterson throws a quick inside leg kick. Scope misses with the combination.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Peterson lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Scope has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Scope and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Scope throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Peterson wants to land a leg kick but Scope is out of range. Scope checks the leg kick nicely there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Peterson walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Scope checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. John Peterson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Scope stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Peterson. Scope shoots in for a takedown but Peterson shows good takedown defense. Peterson buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Peterson throws a head kick but Scope moves out of range.
Peterson takes a swing at Scope's ribcage but misses. Peterson dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Scope. That did some damage! Scope looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Peterson misses with a body shot.
Good work by Scope as he checks the leg kick. John Peterson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Peterson misses with a body kick. Peterson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Scope moves away. Peterson goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Peterson moves forwards but Scope connects with a nice, crisp jab. Scope looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Peterson lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Peterson, right into the meat.
Scope is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Peterson turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Peterson attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Peterson with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Peterson scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Peterson throws a leg kick that misses. A slapping leg kick lands for Peterson.
Scope is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Peterson lands with a kick to the temple. Scope shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Peterson throws a head kick that half lands.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Peterson misses with a hook to the body
and Scope counters with a one-two to the body. Scope looks for a takedown but Peterson sprawls well. Peterson misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Scope.
Peterson throws a leg kick but Scope checks it. Peterson is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Scope rather than just go for the knockout. Scope shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Scope pushes down on Peterson's leg and manages to get into half guard. Peterson wants to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Scope maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Peterson could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Scope has cracked it and Peterson is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Scope!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Michael Scope! Michael Scope got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!'
