Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yuri Volkanov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergei Ivanov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Yuri Volkanov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sergei Ivanov! The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ivanov looks to land a combination but Volkanov avoids it well. Volkanov feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Volkanov seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ivanov can do anything to dispel that myth. Volkanov throwing strikes from guard but Ivanov blocks nicely. Volkanov passes Ivanov's left leg - he's now in half guard. Volkanov is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Ivanov defends it well. Volkanov lands strikes from half guard. Volkanov is thwarting Ivanov's attempts to control the position. Ivanov is refusing to be controlled, as Volkanov sits in half guard. Volkanov looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Volkanov lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ivanov looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Ivanov is looking for a sweep. Volkanov is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Ivanov won't allow Volkanov to pass to mount.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Ivanov throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Volkanov. Ivanov gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Volkanov is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Volkanov controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Volkanov won't allow Ivanov to get back to his feet. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Volkanov scoring with punches to the head and body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ivanov looking to hit a scissor sweep but Volkanov is one step ahead there. Volkanov tries to free his leg and advance position but Ivanov is retaining full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Volkanov is breathing heavily. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Volkanov trying to control the position from guard on top but Ivanov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Volkanov prevents Ivanov from getting back to his feet. Volkanov thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Ivanov throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Sergei Ivanov is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Ivanov swings away with a leg kick that misses. Volkanov has a takedown stuffed. A punch combination from Ivanov misses. Ivanov lands a front kick. Sergei Ivanov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ivanov looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Volkanov shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Volkanov was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Volkanov breaks from Ivanov's wrist control and lands an elbow. Ivanov tries to control the position but Volkanov now has his back.
Ivanov is really stuck here.
Volkanov is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Ivanov up.
Volkanov is working for a rear naked choke. Ivanov is not defending it well and Volkanov has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Ivanov refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Ivanov's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
