Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Drago Pain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Cena (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Drago Pain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Cena!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Wesley Smith and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cena throws a sloppy head kick and Pain moves out of range easily.
Pain uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

A right-left combo lands from Pain.

Cena shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Pain manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Cena tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Pain manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Cena shoots in but Pain avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Jab, jab by Pain - just one landing.
Pain lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Pain.
Pain fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Cena throws a nice looking combination but Pain bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Pain lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Pain swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Pain connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Cena momentarily.
Cena avoids a kick to the body.
Pain lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Cena fails to land the takedown.

Cena closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Pain quickly recovers to half guard.
Cena looks gassed!
Pain scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Cena manages to mount him!

Pain squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Pain tries to buck Cena off but Cena takes his back!

Pain has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cena scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Pain is looking for a way out.

Cena is landing with strikes. Pain can't take much more of this.
Pain controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.
Cena punches Pain on the ear.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Cena controlling the positon.
Pain looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Cena punishes Pain with strikes from the back mount.
Pain holding both Cena 's hands and preventing any damage.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Cena is riding his opponent, not letting Pain buck him off.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but John Cena will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Pain attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

Cena shoots in and bounces Pain off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Pain knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cena on the ground.
Pain is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Cena is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Cena slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Pain is looking to stand back up but Cena counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Pain.

Cena passes to side control.
Pain wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
John Cena has got the better of the ground game so far.
Cena content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Pain pushes Cena away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Cena gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Cena is trying to get an arm triangle but Pain is defending well.

Cena works to advance to full mount. Pain defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cena cracks Pain with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Pain from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
Pain covers up after that shot from Cena.

Cena is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Pain defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Pain controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.

Cena really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Pain.

Pain is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Cena gets his way!
Cena has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

John Cena showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!



Cena clinches up with Pain and pushes him back against the cage.

Cena turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Cena manages to end up in side control.
Cena lands an elbow.
Pain tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
BOOM! Cena connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Pain tries to buck Cena off but he can't manage it.
Cena scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Pain?
Cena sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
You get the feeling that Pain really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Pain tries to buck Cena off but Cena takes his back!
A bit of a pause in the action here. Cena controlling the positon.
Cena lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Cena trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Pain doesn't escape.
Let's hope that Cena has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Cena's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Cena is persistently looking for the submission but Pain is defending it well.

Pain is looking to stand back up. He's having to work hard to escape but eventually he manages it.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Pain misses with a wild combination.
Pain looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Cena has a takedown stuffed.
Cena tries to clinch there but Pain circles away.

Cena closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Cena has Pain pressed against the cage, preventing Pain from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Cena fails to pull guard.

Pain breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Cena takes a jab right on the kisser.
Pain moves out of range of the strikes.
Pain uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Cena has time to react.
Pain bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Cena's head.

Cena shoots in and bounces Pain off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Cena stops Pain from standing up.
Cena is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Pain is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Drago Pain has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Cena controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Pain keeping moving, preventing Cena from controlling successfully.
This has been an exciting period of action!

John Cena has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Cena misses with a wild body shot.
Pain takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Pain lands a two punch combo.

Pain rushes Cena and presses him up against the cage.
Pain makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
John Cena is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Cena's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

And that's the end of the fight!
John Cena comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Cena winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
