The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Summer Carpenter and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvy misses with a double jab.
Stinger slips a jab and a cross from Alvy.
Stinger misses with an uppercut.
Alvy throws a hook but Stinger avoids it easily.
Hoso Alvy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Alvy gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Stinger counters with a takedown into side control.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Stinger looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Alvy is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Stinger is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Stinger unloads with some shots from mount but Alvy bucks and avoids them well.

Stinger misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Alvy is looking to improve his position but Stinger isn't that keen on the idea.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Stinger is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Alvy shoots in looking for a takedown. Stinger tries to sprawl out of it but Alvy keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Stinger manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Hoso Alvy is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Alvy misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Stinger ducks under a wild hook from Alvy.
Alvy missing with a left hand there. Stinger was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Alvy shoots for a double leg takedown but Stinger sprawls well. He's pushed Alvy's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Freddy Stinger has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hoso Alvy.

and Stinger counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Stinger postures up in Alvy's guard and throws a big left but Alvy blocks it.

Alvy tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Stinger cranks the arm and Alvy screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Alvy, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

After the fight, Freddy Stinger was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
