Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Roddy Piper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ford Prefect (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Prefect has chosen For Whom The Bell Tolls as his entrance music. Ford Prefect is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Johanna Lukiainen and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Piper drives through with a takedown into Prefect's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Piper lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Prefect working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Piper.
Prefect has his foot on Piper's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Piper works his way back into a safe position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Prefect has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Piper can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Prefect is looking for a triangle but Piper pushes his legs off easily.
Piper knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Prefect on the ground.
Piper is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Piper has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Prefect is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Piper is aware though and is defending well.
Piper is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Prefect looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Prefect working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Piper doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Piper manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Piper chips away with some ground and pound.
Prefect is still in real trouble! Can Piper finish him?
Piper stands up over Prefect, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Prefect looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Prefect seems to have recovered his senses.
Piper is working Prefect over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Piper makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Piper postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Prefect covers up, he's hurt! Piper keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Piper and the ref steps in to end the fight! Piper can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
