Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Travis Faure! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bob Blunt! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Faure moves out of range of the strikes. Blunt lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Blunt throws a predictable looking body shot
and Faure counters with a takedown into side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Blunt is looking to reverse the position. The strikes coming from Faure are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Blunt tries to bench press Faure off him but Faure keeps the position. Blunt struggling a bit here. Blunt manages to work his way to half guard, despite Faure's best efforts. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The fighters are battling for position here. Blunt manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Faure is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Blunt is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Blunt has escaped and now he's on top! Faure keeping moving, preventing Blunt from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Faure is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Blunt rolls with it to try and escape but Faure cranks on the arm and Blunt is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
